| Bio: | I like to quote a lot of movies and songs and things. I don't know why, but I'm terrified that it means I don't have my own character. I like to listen to sounds at night. Around 1AM, traffic has become a total low hum, so every time a louder noise appears, like a plane or a car nearby, it sounds like someone making a crude rip through expensive fabric. My favorite sound, by the way, is a distant train whistle. It reminds me of summer. I think that beer can be as classy an alcoholic drink as wine is. I think music videos are viable as an art form, if they are done right and don't consist of glossy, pretty teenagers in synchronized dance. I go through phases of music, big swarths of it. I was obsessed for months with soft electropop, but now I'm obsessed with neo-New Wave bands. Soon, this will end and the new genre will consume my life. I believe that given the right context and the right person, opera can be fucking sexy. I admit that when I was in high school, I desperately wanted to learn to play the trumpet and the french horn, not because I liked the instruments, but because the girl I had a crush on played those instruments in the school orchestra. I am not ashamed to admit that I like Panda Express, despite knowing that it is nowhere near authentic Chinese food. I sometimes get nostalgic for other periods of my life. Right now, I'm in a nostalgic for college, period, probably because I had a much cooler social life at the time. I think being single is overrated. I wonder if nice guys finish... at all. As Ethan Hawke says to Winona Ryder in "Reality Bites,": "All we need, Lainie, is a pack of smokes, a cup of coffee, and good conversation.
